Writing A Mission Statement

I've begun work on my prospectus for Eternity. And obviously some of the first steps you take are defining your mission and your values as a church.

So my question to the readers of The Jonah Syndrome is this:

If you were starting a church, what would your mission statement and values be?

Think hard...and leave your answer in the comments...I'm interested to hear what you think the most important thing about a local church is...and you never know, it might find its way into a prospectus...

If I was starting a church, my mission statement was said that it will let anyone to be a peaceful and joyful person, also make a close relationship with other brothers and sisters.

The value of the church is let people come together to share their feelings and experiences with others or god.

Mission: Live "life" with the people God has put around you, and build those relationships in such a way that God is glorified.

Values: Love God; Lover Others (very simplistic in word, but if you get this, the rest is cake)

Reflecting God's light into the darkness.

Or you could always go with, "Creating opportunities to serve..."

How about something like...
To glorify God by loving Him and loving others.

Values words:
Authenic relationships
Service to widows, orphans, etc.
Relentless pursuit of Biblical truth

A lot of anonymous posters...maybe all anons will come out of the darkness :)

I really like the mission statement

"To glorify God by loving Him and loving others"....I'll be honest, I had a version of that in my first draft...

Values of authenticity, service, truth, loving others, etc are all great values...

Here's my question to the commenters...

What enables those values? What is it that we truly value? Is it authenticity or is it something behind the authenticity?
