Now You Can Be Part Of The Fun

The audio from the Text and Context conference in Seattle is now online. I want to take a little bit to say here that this was an absolutely life changing conference for me and these are the messages that God used to do that. In them, you will find extremely challenging statements and probably more than once find yourself with your head swimming.

They are not light. They are not easy. And as a general rule, they are directed at men who will are or will be leading a church. If you are on a church staff, wanting to be on a church staff, or looking at planting a church, you need to listen to these. I'll link to them in the order they were preached. Right click on the link to download the Mp3.

Putting Preachers In Their Place - Mark Driscoll
Pastoral Character And Loving People - CJ Mahaney (GOD ROCKED MY WORLD THROUGH THIS ONE)
Why I Trust The Scriptures - John Piper
Fear And Trembling In The Experience Economy - Jim Gilmore (THIS GUY IS BRILLIANT)
Preaching The Gospel From The Center Of the Evangelical World - Matt Chandler
How My Pastoral Ministry Shapes My Pulpit Ministry - John Piper
Vision Of A Church Planter - Matt Chandler
How Do I Distinguish Between the Gospel and false gospels - John Piper
Decoding The Future - The Phoniness - And The Shifting Sands - Jim Gilmore

Driscoll ended with a Q & A time that I don't see online anywhere. Hopefully that will be available sometime in the future. Take a listen, you won't be sorry you did!

Piper On The Minnesota Bridge Collapse

Abraham has posted on the DG blog something that is unusally powerful. Putting a sermon over a video of real life illustrations of that sermon is worth watching!

Is He Your Greatest Treasure

That's the title of a video post over at PapaMarcs Blog.

You have to listen to these words of Piper and examine them for their truthfulness and then shudder to think how many of them may very well hear the most dreaded words you could ever hear: "Get away from me, for I never knew you".

For All The A's Without B's

Here's a sermon you REALLY need to listen to!

It can be one of the most gutwrenching times you ever go through, but being single does not have to be without joy! And for the married folks in the room, sometimes the moments you cherish most are good afternoons ALONE (especially if you have young kids).

Thank God for single people and for their flexibility and time availability. They are invaluable to the spreading of the Gospel!

UPDATE: You can go to Desiring God here and get more information on this topic.

Sharing The Gospel With Children

Since this is the mission of my life, I had a real interest in this message. It was delivered yesterday at the Childrens Desiring God Conference and is just a phenomenal insight into how to really teach children to see Jesus for who he is.

It's about an hour long. Once again, if you download it and play it at 1.4X speed, it only takes about 30 minutes. And will be 30 minutes well spent.

UPDATE: Here's the link to the written outline and notes as well.
